A rat can last longer without water than a camel.
The name Wendy was made up for the book Peter Pan. There was never a recorded Wendy before.
The original name for butterfly was flutterby.
Bats always turn left when exiting a cave.
If the population of China walked past you in single file, the line would never end because of the rate of reproduction.

SOOL- Space

Hey guys,

If you haven't read Jillian's recent SOOL blog, I really suggest you do. The points she touches on are no less than inspirational, and have gotten me to think more about a subject that I briefly consider every couple of days.

Do you ever get stressed out due to thought of the world, the future, and the effects of mankind? Do you ever feel lazy, upset, or possibly even guilty because of the way things are going? I know I do.

I think about people in third world countries, people that probably won't live to my age and even if they do they will NEVER live half as well as I do. When I think like this I instantly become ashamed of any doubt that I had of my great life. Not having plans on a Saturday night used to depress me, but when I think about my stupid life in relation to the world I realize that I have no right to complain.

Jillian's right, we all can change the world. But the world is so big; there are so many people that need help. The thing is that NO ONE IS HELPING, and of course I am being a hypocrite because my efforts are no where near world-changing, but I just want to know how to get people to listen.

Then usually when I get worried about all these things I think about how big I consider the world to be, how big I consider my country to be, my state, my city; then I think about one single mile, how I think of that as big sometimes. Everyone should take the fact that nothing is how it seems into consideration- for an example, our HUGE, overpopulated world is only a small ball in relation to our universe.

Space is so huge, and our universe, in fact, is only a small dot in comparison to EVERYTHING in space.

This thought is what ends my worries, because when I think about how the world, huge to me, is TINY compared to the universe, which is even TINER compared to everything existing in space, I realize that I am VERY tiny, so therefore my worries should be considered as basically non-existant specs as well.

Sorry for ranting, it just has been on my mind.
Love!

SOMD: Saturday, May 9th

So today I watched Sweeney Todd for the 3rd time this MONTH.

The music is really great, I suggest seeing it if you haven't. Johnny Depp is an amazing actor (and really, REALLY attractive) as well as a good singer. The cinematography is brilliant and the whole plot is great- it was directed by Tim Burton, so of course it was a winner!

Anyway, my favorite song from that will definitely be the SOMD due to the fact that it is already stuck in my head!
